Livewire Hawthorn forward Nick Watson will suit up for his 50th AFL match on ANZAC Day when the Hawks host the Suns at UTAS Stadium.

Watson was drafted to the Club with its fifth pick in the 2023 national draft before making his debut in Round 1, 2024.

His potential was there for everyone to see in his maiden brown and gold season, kicking 25 goals from 18 games and earning a Rising Star nomination.

He would burst onto the scene later that year with two scintillating finals performances, kicking four goals against the Western Bulldogs and another three against Port Adelaide, much to the delight of the iconic 'Wizard Bay' at both the MCG and Adelaide Oval.

In 2025, Watson built more consistency into his game, playing in every possible match across the year and booting 36 majors.

The 21-year-old has continued the streak this year with six straight matches, including a four-goal performance against Essendon in Round 1 and just last week, a career-high five majors against Port Adelaide.

One of the most exciting forwards in the competition, Watson currently averages 15 disposals and 2.7 goals per game, ranking above average and elite in each stat for his position (respectively).

Along with some glimpses of 'The Wizard' in the midfield, the future is looking bright for this young Hawk.
