In the first Tassie home-game of the 2026 season, Hawthorn will host the Gold Coast Suns in a Round 7 clash at UTAS Stadium on ANZAC Day.
The Hawks have won five of their six games played, while the Suns are 4-2.
Hawthorn will don a special edition ANZAC guernsey for the game. Maintaining the traditional brown and gold stripes, this year's guernsey honours Soldiers who have served and played for the Hawks. The central feature is the silhouette of a bugle player in front of a rising sun, symbolising a dawn performance of The Last Post.
As part of this program and in continued support of The Returned and Services League, a percentage of sales from ANZAC products will be donated to the RSL’s 2026 ANZAC Appeal. GET YOURS HERE!

Last time we met
Hawthorn (96) defeated by Gold Coast Suns (104) in Round 10, 2025.
Hawthorn went down by eight points to the Suns in their Darwin fortress, TIO Stadium.
Gold Coast exploded out of the blocks to set up a bit lead, but had to withstand a Nick Watson-inspired Hawks comeback to get the job done. Watson kicked three goals in the opening half to give his team life, before the Hawks completely dominated the contest in the third term to take a three-point lead into the last.
Jai Newcombe (29 disposals and eight tackles) jumped on the Wizard’s coat-tails to bring the Hawks back into the contest, while Karl Amon had a team-high 30 disposals and a goal.
What’s On
Our first home game in Tassie this season!
Be in your seats 30 minutes before ball-up to support a special ceremonial ANZAC tribute delivered in partnership with RSL Tasmania, featuring contributions from members of the Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal Australian Navy.
Hawthorn and Gold Coast will compete for the honour of taking home the Alec Campbell Cup in memory of all those who have served in the Australian and New Zealand armed forces.
Alec Campbell was the world’s last Gallipoli veteran, a local boy from Launceston and a proud Tasmanian. This game, part of the ANZAC Round, acknowledges Alec Campbell and commemorates Tasmania’s contribution to Australia’s fight for freedom.
HawksNest stores can be located inside Gate 2 and opposite Gate 4 for all your merchandise needs.
Inclusion Project Sensory Space
The Inclusion Project will be facilitating the Sensory Spaces at UTAS Stadium - made possible by Variety, the Children’s Charity VIC. This is supported by an Occupational Therapist and lived experience staff member, who will be available to assist fans with strategies to make the game more accessible.
The Sensory Space is located below the Western Stand and will be open as the gates open, for the duration of the match.
Inclusion Project Officers will be at the main entrances to assist if you require during the match.

Getting to the game
Walking to the ground
The stadium is located within walking distance to Launceston’s CBD.
Public Transport
Public transport is free from Monday, 30 March to Tuesday, 30 June 2026.
Free travel applies to:
- Adult, concession, urban, non-urban, and child/student fares
- General access services operated by Metro Tasmania, Tassielink Transit, Kinetic, Manions Coaches, Calows Coaches, Area Connect, and Derwent Ferries
- All government contracted school bus services that charge a fare.
The Tasmanian Government has introduced this temporary measure in response to rising fuel costs. Public transport is a great alternative to driving for many people, and this incentive encourages people to give it a go. Instead of paying for petrol and parking, you can try the bus or ferry for free.

Metro Tasmania bus service 'Northern Turn Up & Go' runs down Invermay Road with stops outside UTAS Stadium.
Routes connect Kings Meadows through the city to Mowbray, Invermay, and Inveresk.
