Hawks Pride
Hawks Pride aims to provide an inclusive LGBTQIA+ supporter group that welcomes and embraces all members of the community.
The group will host regular social events, watch games together and connect with the club.
The group was created by three die-hard Hawthorn Football Club fans in 2017. The group welcomes members from diverse sexuality, gender and cultural backgrounds.
Hawks Pride will join with similar groups at other AFL clubs to form a collective organisation to represent LGBTIQ AFL supporters.

About Us
Founded in 1979, The Thornbirds has built a strong and enduring presence within the Hawthorn Football Club, with a rich history of supporting women in football. Led by women, we aim to create a welcoming, safe, inclusive, and fun environment for women of all ages. At the heart of our group is the goal to foster meaningful connections and lasting friendships through the shared experience of football.
We are proud to sponsor 3 AFL Players and 1 AFLW Player, supporting them both on and off the field. In addition, we actively support several Club initiatives and champion various charitable causes, making a positive impact on and off the field.
Our Events Include:
- Monthly Coffee and Chat gatherings in Box Hill
- Sponsored Players Night (subject to player availability)
- Grand Final Week morning team event with the mums of our AFL and AFLW players
- Annual Christmas Family Event
- Various other social and community-building events
