Hawthorn dominated the Round 7 Coaches votes in its 49-point win over the Gold Coast Suns.
Skipper Jai Newcome topped the list with nine votes for his performance at UTAS Stadium. The star midfielder led by example with 30 disposals, a game-high 12 clearances and six tackles.
Jack Gunston collected seven votes for his game-high five goal haul from 15 disposals. He had 11 score involvements and a game-high five marks.
Jarman Impey impressed the coaches, earning himself five votes. He finished with one goal, 28 disposals, including seven score involvements.
Four votes went Josh Battle’s way for his performance consisting of 29 touches, including a game-high 11 intercept possessions and seven marks.
Karl Amon and Connor Macdonald each got two votes. Amon collected an equal game-high 31 disposals, nine score involvements and eight marks, while Macdonald had a game-high 12 score involvements including a goal of his own, as well as seven marks, five marks and four tackles.
Jack Scrimshaw finished with one vote in Launceston, for his 24 disposals, 10 intercept possessions and nine contested possessions.
Every week, the two senior coaches for each game give votes on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis, meaning 10 votes is the maximum a player can get in each round.
The player with the most votes at the end of the home and away season will win the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.
