Hawthorn went down to the Dockers by 13 points in its last clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium, with Fremantle coming from behind at the last break to seal the victory.
It was a high-stakes clash that came down to moments in the final quarter. The Hawks lost no admirers but missed a change to move into the top four.
Returning Hawk Calsher Dear finished with three goals, while Hawthorn’s small forwards ran riot at ground level, with Dylan Moore, Nick Watson, Connor Macdonald and Jack Ginnivan all kicking second quarter goals.
