Hawthorn star Matt Suckling will take over the Club’s official twitter account (@HawthornFC) on Friday night and tweet the match live from Etihad Stadium.

Suckling is out for the season having undergone a knee reconstruction, so is taking the opportunity to give fans a unique perspective on the game by tweeting the St Kilda v Hawthorn match from a player’s perspective.

The Hawks defender says he’s hoping to give fans an insight into the tactics the players are trying to employ against the Saints.

“Hopefully I can give some good insights into what the players are doing and how they’re going about the game,” he said.

The tweets won’t be all serious though, look out for him to crack a few jokes about his teammates on things fans might not know about their favourite players.

“I’ll try and find something to stitch a few of the boys up,” he said.

“The tweets will have a bit of a joke about them, but there’ll be some serious stuff in there as well.”

Suckling will use the hashtag #SucklingTakeover and tweet from the Club’s official twitter - @HawthornFC.

At half time of the game, Suckling will also answer questions tweeted in by fans.

He will also be giving away a number 4 signed guernsey for the best and most informed tweet about the game on the night.

Suckling’s Twitter takeover will begin at 7.30pm – 20 minutes before the opening bounce of Friday night’s clash.
