Hawthorn has secured Finn Maginness under the father-son rule, after matching North Melbourne's bid with Pick 29 in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft.

Finn’s father Scott, a 1989 premiership player, played 131 games for the Hawks across a nine-year career.

Described as a hard-working, big-bodied midfielder, Maginness played for the Sandringham Dragons this year in the NAB League, averaging 20.8 disposals, 5.4 tackles and just shy of a goal per game.
