Hawthorn is back home at this MCG this Friday night, hosting the Western Bulldogs in Round 13.

The Hawks and the Dogs met back in Round 5, with the Hawks taking the points. Since then, the Hawks have won four games, lost two and drew one, to sit third on the ladder. While the Bulldogs sit seventh, having won three and lost four since our last meeting.

Last time we met

Hawthorn (104) defeated Western Bulldogs (64) in Round 5, 2026.

The Hawks and the Dogs last met in Gather Round earlier this year, with Hawthorn taking a 40-point victory at Adelaide Oval.

Hawks co-Captain Jai Newcombe produced the complete midfield game, 28 disposals, 14 clearances and a goal. His co-skipper James Sicily and Josh Battle both took 13 mark in defence, and Jac Ginnivan was a standout (28 disposals and a goal).

While Karl Amon (24 possessions, Jarman Impey (26 disposals) and Blake Hardwick (25 disposals) were all prominent.

Hawk forward Mitchell Lewis grabbed 10 marks in his imposing three-goal performance, and veteran Jack Gunston (three goals) and Dylan Moore (two) were other scoring threats.

Quarter-time seems the Superhero Kick for Cash, half-time it’s Auskick, a dance cam and interview with the San Francisco 49ers, before the three quarter-time KFC Bucket Kick Challenge thanks to our Match Day Partner, KFC.

By Train

Jolimont Station is a five-minute walk (350m) through Yarra Park to MCG Gate 2.

Richmond Station is 850m from the MCG.

Train Disruptions:  

  • Buses replace trains on the Sunbury Linebetween Footscray and Sunbury stations from 8.30pm Friday June to last train Sunday 7 June.
  • Coaches replace trains on the Bendigo Linebetween Southern Cross and Bendigo stations from 8pm to last service on Friday 5 June.

By Tram

Three tram routes provide access to the MCG:

- Route 75 (City-Vermont South) - Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG is 300m from MCG Gate 2.

- Route 48 (Docklands/City-North Balwyn) - Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG is 300m from MCG Gate 2.

- Route 70 (Docklands/City-Wattle Park) - the stop is 500m from Gate 2.

By Bus

Bus route 246 stops in Punt Road and is 600m from MCG Gate 3.

By Car

Parking is extremely limited on event days at the MCG. The use of public transport is strongly recommended.

Parking for Australian Disability Parking (ADP) permit holders is available in Yarra Park. More information can be found here.

Drop off/Pick up locations
