Hawthorn Football Club is mourning the passing of 1961 premiership player, Phil Hay.
Renowned for his role as a reliable and tough defender, Hay played 107 games over seven seasons for the Hawks.
In addition to being a part of Hawthorn's inaugural VFL premiership in 1961, Hay also finished equal runner up in the 1964 Brownlow Medal.
The Club would like to acknowledge Hay's contribution to the brown and gold and extend its sincere condolences to his family and friends.
