Hawthorn returns from the bye to face the Gold Suns in Round 15 at People First Stadium on Friday night.
The sides met recently in Round 7, with the Hawks taking the win in a 49-point result at UTAS Stadium. This weekend’s clash takes place on the Suns home ground, where the Hawks haven’t won since 2014.
Since the last meeting the Hawks have had a draw, two wins and three losses to sit fifth on the ladder, while the Suns have won three and lost their last three in a row to sit ninth.

Hawthorn (112) defeated Gold Coast Suns (63) in Round 7, 2026.
Hawthorn finished with a flurry to beat Gold Coast by 49 points in a clash at UTAS Stadium.
The Hawks led by as many as 46 points in the second quarter, before the Suns came to life to reduce the margin to nine in the third term.
Tom Barrass was the unlikely goal kicker late in the third after a 50m penalty, to give his side a 75-60 lead.
Veteran forward Jack Gunston finished with five goals, while co-captain Jai Newcombe was heavily involved with 30 disposals, 12 clearances and six clearances. Nick Watson also gave a lively performance in game 50, finishing with two goals and seven score involvements from 14 disposals.

People First Stadium ticket holders can travel for free on Queensland Rail (excluding Airtrain), G:link trams, and Kinetic buses. Free travel is valid from 4 hours before your event until the last service of the day.
