Jack Gunston will play on for an 18th AFL season in 2027 after re-signing with the club on a new one-year deal.

Fresh from a career-best year last season, which saw him claim his second All-Australian blazer and a second Peter Crimmins Medal, 34-year-old Gunston has continued to defy Father Time in 2026, bettering his goal-per-game output with 3.3 majors a game.

The crafty veteran has been held goalless just once this season, booting a bag of five on three occasions, as well as a six-goal haul against ladder leaders Fremantle in Perth.

Five games away from his 300th AFL game, the three-time premiership Hawk is also just one goal away from equalling his great mate Luke Breust in seventh spot on the club’s all-time goalkicking list.
