Hawthorn Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Life Member Ken Freiberg.
Ken was a deeply respected, loyal, and dedicated member of the Hawthorn family, whose lifelong contribution to the club spanned several decades.
His connection to Hawthorn began as a five-year-old attending games at Glenferrie Oval with his father, before going on to play for the Fourths, Thirds, and Second-18 teams throughout the 1950s.
Renowned for his reliability and willingness to always help out, Ken was invited to assist legendary Property Steward Andy Angwin in 2000, before being appointed as Head Property Steward three years later following Angwin's passing. Ken served the club in this vital role until 2020.
His immense dedication to the club was celebrated when he was awarded Hawthorn Life Membership in 1992 for his services to the Past Players and Officials Association.
Hawthorn would like to acknowledge Ken's significant contribution to the brown and gold and extend its sincere condolences to his family and friends during this sad time.
