Four Hawks are set to undergo tests to prove their fitness to play this weekend.

Karl Amon (knee), Ned Reeves (knee) and Henry Hustwaite (face) will each be pushing their case to be available for selection, so too Mitch Lewis, who remains on track to be cleared from concussion protocols after missing the Round 21 win over North Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Jack Dalton (knee), Flynn Perez (groin), Jack Scrimshaw (knee) and Noah Mraz (kidney) continue to make steady progress in their respective recoveries.

Hawthorn High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on each player on the Round 22 Injury List below.

Karl Amon (Knee) – Test

“Karl’s progressed really well over the last week, did some good training towards the end of last week and over the weekend we’re anticipating him training on Wednesday for a full training session and then being available, so we’ll confirm that after the training session tomorrow.”

Henry Hustwaite (Face) – Test

“Didn’t quite get up last week for the VFL game, wasn’t cleared by the specialist, that’s the main reason why he wasn’t able to play. That’s now clear, he’s available. There’s no VFL game this weekend, we obviously have an AFL game, he’s clear to fully train and he’s available this week.”

Mitch Lewis (Concussion) – Test

“It’s going smoothly, he’s ticked off everything so far. So main training session tomorrow, he will participate in that whole training session, and we expect he’ll be available this week.”

Ned Reeves (Knee) – Test

“Similar to the other two, he actually completed training all of last week, did some more work on Saturday, he’s fully training tomorrow and we expect him to be available this week also.”

Jack Dalton (Knee) – 1 week

“He’s made some fantastic progression over the last one to two weeks, particularly the last week. yesterday he did an excellent session out here. So he will do some training with the main group tomorrow, he won’t be available this weekend, certainly next week we’ll more than likely have him available, providing everything goes smooth over the next week and a half. But he’s done a fantastic job and we’re looking forward to having him back.”

Flynn Perez (Groin) – 1-2 weeks

“He’s just had some niggling groin pain over the last couple of weeks which he’s been managing, and we took the opportunity last weekend to not play and give him a bit more time. There’s a VFL bye this week so we’re just taking that two-week block to help things settle.  We’ll reassess things next week once we get him moving again and we’ll update on his availability.”

Jack Scrimshaw (Knee) – 1-2 weeks

“Very well, has certainly made some good progression in the last week and he’s going to do some training tomorrow. Certainly not available this week but we’re tentatively thinking the following week he might play some game time, but everything will need to go smoothly and we’ll just keep progressing him smoothly and make sure we get a good result with this.”

Noah Mraz (Kidney) – 4-5 weeks

“So he’s see then specialist and consulting with doctors and our medical team, so now we’re looking at a return potentially, the week of bye in the AFL, providing we’re not in the Wildcard Round this year, which is the first week of finals for the VFL, there’s a chance he’ll be available for that. If not, it would definitely be the week after, but Noah’s pushing hard and we’re certainly pushing hard to consider the first option. But he’s certainly back exercising, doing bits and pieces around the club at the moment, we’ll progress that over the next couple of weeks and keep updating of his progression but we’re certainly looking to return to football in the coming weeks.”
