Emerging small forward Matt Hill has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal to keep him at the Hawks until at least the end of 2028.
 
Hill’s contract extension comes weeks after the Rugby League convert made his AFL debut in Round 18, before backing it up to kick a pair of special goals while wearing Hawthorn’s Indigenous Guernsey in Round 19 to seal his first win for the club.
 
Originally from Katherine in the Northern Territory, the Nyoongar, Ballardong, Wardandi, Gajerrong and Bunuba man joined Hawthorn as a Category B rookie at the end of 2024.
 
Hill’s cross-code detour came after spending time in the Melbourne Storm’s academy and its First Nations Pathways Program, as well as previously being in the Brisbane Broncos' development squad.
