Five Hawks have been recognised for their outstanding seasons by being named in the 2026 AFL All-Australian squad.

Up forward, Jack Gunston is in the mix to be selected in back-to-back All-Australian teams, and the third in his career, while Nick Watson could earn his maiden blazer following a scintillating third season in the brown and gold.

Thirty-four-year-old Gunston continued to prove that age is just a number in 2026 with a league-leading 3.5 goals per game to finish fourth in the Coleman Medal with 59 goals.

Electric small forward Watson finished closely behind in sixth with 55 majors from 21 matches this season, complementing averages of 13.3 disposals and 6.9 score involvements per game.

Hawthorn’s defenders have been recognised as well, with Jarman Impey a chance to earn his first All-Australian blazer, while co-captain James Sicily could back up his 2023 selection with his second three years later.

Impey led Hawthorn’s attack from the back half this season, averaging 26 disposals at 77.2 per cent efficiency, along with 7.1 score involvements and 5.9 marks.

Meanwhile, Sicily was at his intercepting best with averages of 21.2 disposals at 84.8 per cent efficiency to go with seven marks per game, resulting in his fourth All-Australian extended squad selection.

His fellow co-captain Jai Newcombe has also been commended for a fantastic season in the midfield, with the 25-year-old a chance to join Impey and Watson as first-time All-Australians.

The 25-year-old continues to be one of the AFL Mid-Season Draft’s greatest success stories and took his game to another level this year with impressive averages of 26 disposals, a league-leading 7.6 clearances, 6.4 score involvements and four inside 50s per match.

The final All-Australian team will be announced at the AFL’s Awards night on Tuesday 25 August.
