AS another massive year draws to a close, hawthornfc.com.au has decided to count down some of the Hawks' best on-field moments of 2015.

There were plenty - and we're convinced there were plenty not on this list that deserve to be - because it has been another exceptional year for the team.

Here's moments three and two in our countdown of the 15 moments of 2015.

3. Hodge slots miraculous grand final goal from the boundary

Having jumped out to 19-point lead at quarter time against the Eagles, Hawthorn started the second term in ominous fashion, thanks to a miraculous effort by skipper Luke Hodge.

Tight up against the boundary in the forward pocket, Hodge received a handball from teammate Paul Puopolo, with Jeremy McGovern bearing down from front on. With the Eagles swingman threating to smother, Hodge snapped a very high, left foot banana, miraculously splitting the middle of the goals.

2. Cyril’s grand final chase down on Eagle Hutchings

Already 31 points down in the second quarter of the grand final, West Coast looked to run the ball out of defence through Mark Hutchings.

But after taking one bounce, Hutchings was ferociously chased down and wrapped up in a Cyril Rioli tackle.

The ball spilling free, Cyril was reward with a free kick for holding the ball before sending it inside 50 for Jack Gunston to gather and snap the goal that arguably secured the 2015 AFL Premiership.
