David Mirra's form at VFL level this year was nothing short of outstanding.

Featuring 15 times for Box Hill, Mirra was named in his side's best players on 11 occasions - the equal-fourth-most of any player in the competition.

The 28-year-old averaged 19 disposals, seven marks and five rebound 50s this year, continuing to build his reputation as one of the league's leading defenders.

Despite his AFL numbers being quite similar to his VFL statistics, Mirra was afforded just four senior games in 2019.

These four appearances all came in the opening five weeks of the AFL season, with Mirra selected in the Adelaide, North Melbourne, St Kilda and Geelong games.

After seven AFL games in his debut season in 2018, Mirra's main improvement at senior level this year came in his disposal efficiency which sat at an impressive 77.5 per cent.

Furthering his achievements at the Box Hill Football Club, Mirra was named captain and centre half-back of the Box Hill All-Stars side which was named in celebration of the club's 20th year anniversary.
