After an exciting 19-point win to finish off the home and away season, the Box Hill Hawks have propelled themselves into a third-straight VFL finals campaign.

After a slow start against 11th-placed Collingwood, a seven-goal final term sealed the deal and pushed Max Bailey’s men up into eighth spot on the ladder.

The Hawks will now face off against fifth-placed Werribee in a do-or-die elimination final this Sunday afternoon at Adcon Stadium.

While the road to a VFL final will be a difficult one for the reigning premiers - it’s certainly not impossible.

In 2018, a stunning finals campaign that included a draw and overtime in the elimination final, as well as a six-goal fight back in the grand final, saw Box Hill become the first VFL side in history to win the premiership from outside the top four.

They had finished seventh on the ladder.

Can the boys cause a similar upset this year and go back to back?

Make sure you’re there to find out!
