Rosie Dillon has been named Hawthorn’s 2019 VFLW Best and Fairest.

Dillon was crowned the winner on Thursday night after a career-best season where she proved to be one of the league’s leading midfielders, averaging 17.1 disposals and 5.6 tackles.

The win added to a list of achievements for the 23-year-old in 2019, having been named in the VFLW Team of the Year and as a finalist for the Debbie Lee Rising Star Medal.

The inside mid is known for her ability to break through packs and win contested possessions, an ability that was evident in Hawthorn’s Round 9 win against Geelong, where she was named MVP after registering 24 possessions, of which 19 were contested.

In her third year in the brown and gold, Dillon played all 14 games and was named in the best on 11 of those occasions.

She was announced as the winner after polling 49 votes, with midfielder Rebecca Beeson coming in as runner up with 47 votes and ruck Lou Wotton placing third with 36 votes.

Other winners on the night included Phoebe McWilliams as the Leading Goal Kicker after booting 12 goals throughout the season.

Claire Dyett was named as Most Promising Player after she also displayed her best season to date, before sadly rupturing her ACL in Round 13 against Melbourne Uni.

Lastly, Kara Henderson was presented the Best Club Person by Tanya Gallina. Henderson was awarded this for her commitment to the club and her embodiment of the club’s values.
