Recruit Chad Wingard and defender David Mirra will replace injured pair Shaun Burgoyne and Liam Shiels in the side set to take on North Melbourne this Sunday.

It will be Wingard’s first game in Hawthorn colours after crossing from Port Adelaide in October, while Mirra returns to the side after a strong performance for Box Hill last week.

GM – Football Graham Wright said the Hawks side will be intent on recording the club’s second victory of the season.

“The boys are determined to put out a strong showing this week against the Kangaroos,” Wright said.

“It is obviously unfortunate that we lose Liam and Shaun to injury, but we’re thrilled to have Chad back at full fitness and preparing to make his club debut.”

Hawthorn has a strong record against North Melbourne in recent times, winning eight of its last 10 encounters against the rivals.

The Hawks will host the Kangaroos at the MCG this Sunday at 3.20pm.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and visit the Nissan Intelligent Playground outside Gates 2 and 3, where they can collect a free limited edition player poster.
