Hawthorn Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd said finding the balance between work, rest and play is the key focus of this week's camp in Mooloolaba.

The Hawks arrived in Mooloolaba on Sunday and quickly began a program that will see them finish the pre-Christmas pre-season block with a strong training phase.

"There's a big focus on conditioning up here with three main training days and a little bit of stuff in between," Boyd said.

"It's also important though that we recover and rest and make sure we are good to go for all three of those sessions.

"Camps are fantastic from a performance point of view, but they are also great to get to know the new draftees."
