There are 14 premiership medallions across the Hawks seven-man leadership group, but they're not split evenly.

Ben Stratton, Liam Shiels, Isaac Smith and Jack Gunston have three each while Ben McEvoy has two.

Jaeger O'Meara and fellow midfielder and close friend Tom Mitchell are yet to taste that ultimate success.

But O'Meara says this difference in experience, success as well as personalities throughout the leadership group is a strength.

“It works really well, obviously we’ve got a few guys that have had a lot of experience and have played in premierships," O'Meara said.

“Then there’s Tommy and myself who still haven’t got there, so we’ve got a real hunger for that."

The former Sun concedes his leadership style doesn't necessarily align with others within the cohort.

But, again, that is a strength.

“I’m not the most vocal bloke off the field but I try to lead by my actions and lead by example.

“I just try to have genuine care for the playing group and the club as a whole."
