Hawks forward Luke Breust said finishing the side's clash against Brisbane to the news that the season was postponed was a fitting end to the week that was.

Breust said the constant toing and froing the players were dealing with in the lead-up to the game made it one of the most unique preparations the two-time All Australian had ever had to a game.

“It was just bizarre and it was probably a fitting end to the week to be honest," Breust said.

"There was so much information we were getting handed throughout the week on whether we’d play to then finally get told the season was being postponed and that it would resume in who knows how long, it’s just a weird situation."

What has Will Day got planned for his time away from the club?

The 29-year-old, who finished with an equal team-high of three goals in the win over the Lions, drew comparisons between this upcoming stint away from the club and the off-season.

“It’s no different to an off-season really.

"I’m tossing up whether to go back to the farm.

"I have to work out where’s best to get everything done and still stay sane."
