Speaking on Wednesday, Mitchell said he was proud of what the piece was able to capture and hoped the fans enjoyed the behind-the-scenes perspective.

"It basically tracks from when I broke my leg a year and a half ago, through how I approached the recovery and how I got back," Mitchell said.

"It's been a bit of a project that we've been working on over the last year or so.

"Hopefully it comes up well and you guys, the fans, enjoy it!"

Road to Recovery is set to go to air on Friday night 6pm AEST on Fox Footy ahead of Hawthorn's Round 2 clash with Geelong.
