After nine days of training since the players arrived in South Africa late on 8 December, the Hawks completed their final skills session abroad on Wednesday morning.

Now in Cape Town, the players and coaches headed to Jacques Kallis Oval at the old school of the South African cricket great for an early morning session.

It seemed the coaching and fitness staff saved the best for last, with some describing the final session as the toughest of the trip.

The players completed skills drills followed by running sessions, then into game play and more running sessions before some more skills drills. But it wasn't over there, the players then completed a long hill climb to close the session.

After a break and some lunch at the hotel, the players were then taken to one of the biggest tourist attractions in Cape Town, Table Mountain for a hike.

After over an hour, the players finally completed the steep climb that really tested out their legs to close the gruelling camp.

The Hawks will now travel back to Melbourne and arrive on Friday night.
