The Hawks look likely to be buoyed by the return of Luke Breust this Friday night, with the small forward having overcome a fractured jaw.

Breust required surgery after injuring himself while tackling Todd Goldstein in Round 4, but has progressed well in his recovery - according to Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd.

"Luke's had a really good training block over the last four weeks," Boyd said.

"He only actually had a week out of the program, then was able to start running and some non-contact skill work.

"He's put himself in a really good position to be ready to come back into the team. He's available to play this week and we feel really confident with the work that he's done."

Jonathon Ceglar is taking slightly longer than expected to recover from a crack in his toe, and will face a race against the clock to prove his fitness for Friday's game. Tim O'Brien is in a similar position as he looks to return from an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Jarman Impey now has three scratch match performances under his belt, increasing his game time in each. The Hawks will make a decision later this week as to whether it's time to inject Impey back into the senior line up.
