Blake Hardwick thinks he knows why the Hawks hold a perfect record at Perth's Optus Stadium.

Hawthorn has won all three of its appearances at the venue, the first of which was over two years ago.

But the Hawks defender's reasoning is simple.

"I think it's so similar to the 'G," Hardwick told a press conference on Wednesday.

"You even walk out there, all of the surroundings, it feels like you're at the 'G, the surface is pretty similar and the size of it as well, although I think it might be a tiny bit smaller.

"But when you're walking around it kind of feels like you're at home, on the 'G, so I think that's a big reason for it."
