With Pick 29 in the 2020 NAB AFL Draft, Hawthorn has selected Bendigo Pioneers product Seamus Mitchell.

A talent goal kicker with impressive football IQ and creativity with ball in hand, Mitchell looms as an exciting prospect who will help sure up the Hawks’ forward stocks.

The youngster played five games as a bottom-ager in the 2019 NAB League series, booting six goals and averaging 11 disposals a game.

Though the COVID-19 situation meant Mitchell didn’t have an opportunity to show his wares as an 18-year-old in 2020, his natural athleticism and consistent improvement in previous years make him an alluring prospect.

And of course, who doesn’t love to see someone with the last name Mitchell running around in the brown and gold?

Mitchell is the second draftee to land at Hawthorn so far in the 2020 NAB AFL Draft, following Denver Grainger-Barras (Pick 6).

Stay tuned for more draft news to come.
