Oliver Hanrahan has received the nod from fans as Hawthorn’s Round 5 MVP following the side's loss to Melbourne.

Following two weeks in the reserves, Hanrahan return to the senior side and made an instant impact on Sunday.

The 22-year-old booted two goals in a highly impressive opening term as he helped the Hawks to a slight lead the first break.

The Hawks' clearance work has improved this year, but there's an important next phase in this progression.

Although not adding to his goals tally beyond quarter time, Hanrahan continued to have an impact on the game, with his pressure on Demons defenders a feature.

Set to play just his 20th senior game against Adelaide this Sunday, Hawks fans will be hoping this performance catapults the young small forward's confidence at senior level for the remainder of the 2021 campaign.
