Hawthorn Coach Alastair Clarkson has spoken about the Hawks long association in Tasmania as his side prepares to take on the Western Bulldogs at UTAS Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

In what is set to be his final game as Hawthorn coach down in Tassie, Clarkson reflected on the "magnificent moments" that have occurred at the clubs' home away from home during the last two decades.

ROUND 22 TEAM: Hawks confirm one change

"We get a chance to fortunately get down to Tassie to play our game this week and give them something to cheer about given that hardly any footy, if not at all, went down to Tasmania last year," Clarkson said.

"We’ve been part of taking footy to Tasmania for the best part of 20 years at our footy club.

"It has been a real fortress down there for us, probably the proudest thing is not so much one moment, but just the fact that we were just so difficult to beat down there for a long, long period of time."

Coming off recent back-to-back wins, Clarkson said he was confident that his side would produce a strong effort against the top-four Bulldogs.

"The performance of the guys over the last couple of games has been really strong, but you move on relatively quickly," he said.

"As much as it's great to get those victories, we've got another significant challenge against the Dogs this week.

"We've got a pretty young group in this particular game, so we're going to really try and take it up to the Bulldogs and see how we go."
