Joining Tom Mitchell as the only two Hawks to play all 17 games in 2020, Chad Wingard was one of the club’s top performers last season. Deservedly taking home third place in the Peter Crimmins Medal count, Wingard averaged more than a goal a game whilst also providing some dynamism in the Hawks on-ball brigade when called upon. The 27-year-old’s opening four games of the season were especially prolific, averaging 17.5 disposals and 2.3 goals. It was form comparable, if not bettering, his work during his two All Australian campaigns in 2013 and 2015. One of the Hawks’ premier talents, Wingard will be a key driver in the club’s pursuit of an improved campaign in 2021.
