West led the team in disposal average, contested possessions, handballs, ground ball gets, tackles and clearances. The vice-captain had an impressive debut season with the Hawks, featuring in every game. West was ranked third in the competition for handballs with 179, fourth for tackles with 102 and was named in the All Australian squad for the first time.
