After being overlooked in a series of drafts, Tamara Smith finally got her chance with the Hawks ahead of their inaugural season. The former Geelong VFLW midfielder played all 10 games for Hawthorn in the team’s maiden AFLW season and impressed in particular with her tackling, ranking fifth in the league with 8.3 per game. The 24-year-old is also a back-to-back Most Courageous Player winner.
