Lou first joined the brown and gold in 2018 playing in our VFLW premiership. She continued in a playing role at the club in 2019 and had plans of playing in 2020 before the season was cancelled. She has decided after 233 games spanning across 16 years, to ‘hang up the boots’ and turn her attention to coaching.

Lou is a secondary teacher by trade, teaching Physical Education and Health since 2006. Lou’s passion is to support all of her students to feel like valuable and worthy individuals in the community. She is eager to continue this passion through developing players not only on the field but also as individuals now part of the Hawthorn family.

Lou considers herself a lifelong pupil of the game and is keen to learn the ropes of coaching whilst sharing her knowledge to the next generation of female footballers. She has a particular interest in the midfield, having played mostly ruck throughout her football career. She is excited to help develop every player but particularly the midfield group in her role as development coach.
