UTAS Stadium

Getting to UTAS Stadium

📍UTAS Stadium,  Level 4/2 Invermay Rd, Invermay TAS 7248

There are a variety of different options available for anyone who is travelling to our Hawks games in Launceston to make it easy to enjoy the game.

Walking to the ground

The stadium is located within walking distance to Launceston’s CBD.

Public Transport

Public transport is free from Monday, 30 March to Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

Free travel applies to:

🟤 Adult, concession, urban, non-urban, and child/student fares

🟡 General access services operated by Metro Tasmania, Tassielink Transit, Kinetic, Manions Coaches, Calows Coaches, Area Connect, and Derwent Ferries

🟤 All government contracted school bus services that charge a fare.

The Tasmanian Government has introduced this temporary measure in response to rising fuel costs.  Public transport is a great alternative to driving for many people, and this incentive encourages people to give it a go. Instead of paying for petrol and parking, you can try the bus or ferry for free.

By Bus

Metro Tasmania bus service 'Northern Turn Up & Go' runs down Invermay Road with stops outside UTAS Stadium.

Routes connect Kings Meadows through the city to Mowbray, Invermay, and Inveresk.

Bus numbers include 110, 115, 116, 117, 770, 771, 772.

Additionally, Launceston's free Tiger Bus Service stops close to the stadium, at Invermay shops and North Inveresk Car Park.

UTAS Redevelopment

Throughout the off-season, UTAS Stadium has been undergoing significant redevelopment to the Eastern Terrace and the Western Stand. While overall capacity at the venue will be reduced this season, the stadium’s redevelopment is pleasingly ahead of schedule at the moment.

The Club is working closely with Stadiums Tasmania to maximise capacity wherever possible. Due to the reduced capacity and the expected strong demand for matches at UTAS Stadium this season, Hawthorn strongly encourages members to upgrade to a reserved seat for these matches via Ticketmaster.

While the works is underway we suggest the following entry to the ground:

Gate Ticket Type
1 Carlton Draught and Western Stand
3 Hospitality (function and suites)
4 Western Stand and Southern Terrace
11 Railways Workers Hill (GA) and Northern Terrace
