A 'fully ticketed' game does not allow general admission access.

Attending a fully ticketed game

To attend a fully ticketed game, you must either hold a reserved seat membership or have obtained a reserved seat ticket.

🟡  Hold a reserved seat membership

🟡  Use your general admission membership to purchase a reserved seat ticket at a member-only rate using your member barcode.

🟡  Purchase a reserved seat ticket as a non-member

Games are classed as fully ticketed at the discretion of the home team, stadium, and AFL. This decision is based primarily on ticket sales and member attendance forecasts, and is made to ensure patron safety when large crowds are expected.

Note: General admission access is always subject to capacity. Hawthorn recommends general admission members guarantee game entry by purchasing a reserved seat ticket to blockbuster matches.

MCG Sensory Space, facilitated by The Inclusion Project, made possible by Variety, the Children's Charity VIC

The Inclusion Project, made possible by Variety, the Children's Charity VIC, is proudly partnering with the Hawthorn Football Club to assist with making the match-day experience more accessible for those living with hidden disabilities.

The Inclusion Project will be located on the external concourse at Gate 3A. The Inclusion Project hub will benefit fans who are seeking sensory stimulation and engagement, with an occupational therapist on site to provide personalised support. This support is available from gate opening until the end of the match and can be accessed before, after and during the match by scanning your ticket in and out of the gate.

Sensory Space

Additionally, the MCG's Sensory Friendly Space is available inside Gate 3, within the Australian Sports Museum. The space provides fans with sensory processing differences a quiet and low sensory place to retreat and recharge aware from the stress and stimulation of a live event. It includes dimmed lighting, comfort items and a live screening of the event. This space is open from Gate 3 opening until 15 minutes after the end of the match. Please note that occupational therapists do not work in this space.

Sensory Space location: Located within the Australian Sports Museum, Gate 3

Gate 3B is located on the eastern side of Gate 3 (closest to Richmond Station), and can be utilised by patrons with accessibility needs, including hidden disabilities.

The gate will open at at the same time as Gate 3 and will remain open until 15mins after match start. After this time, patrons with accessibility needs will need to enter through the front of Gate 3.

The accessibility gate has been designed to enhance safety, whilst reducing anxiety, sensory stimulation and time pressures associated with entry.

Features of this gate will include:

🟡 No overhead announcements or flashing signs

🟤 Additional support from trained MCG staff and security guards
