Jai Newcombe has received the nod from fans as Hawthorn’s Round 4 MVP following the side's loss to St Kilda.

Newcombe, who has played just 11 career games, has continued to showcase his stunning rise from country football to the AFL this season.

The 20-year-old was a shining light against the Saints, standing out with his determination, work rate and persistence.

He finished the game with a career-high 23 disposals, five clearances, four inside 50s and a team-high 412 metres gained.
