Hawks star Jack Gunston has escaped major damage to his ankle after an incident in Sunday’s narrow loss to Collingwood.

The club will continue to assess him throughout this week after scans revealed some impingement on the outside of his ankle.

The injury is not related to his previous ankle injury.

However, the club has decided to take a conservative approach and he is expected to be available for selection after the bye.

In further good news, defender Jack Scrimshaw is on track to make a return against Fremantle this Saturday as he continues to progress through his concussion protocols.

The youngster missed last week’s clash after sustaining a head knock in the side’s Round 11 match-up against Gold Coast.

Hawthorn’s Head Physiotherapist Andrew Lambart has the latest on the duo, plus several more Hawks in this week’s AIA Vitality Update.
