Young gun Will Day is a confirmed starter ahead of Hawthorn’s clash against West Coast at the MCG this Sunday.

Day regains his spot in the senior side after serving a one-game suspension following an incident in Round 16.

The 21-year-old’s inclusion is the sole change for the Hawks, with forward Jacob Koschitzke omitted from the side.

Head of Football Rob McCartney said Day’s addition injects further excitement into a developing Hawthorn group.

“Frustratingly for Will, he has experienced an interrupted season through injury, health and safety protocols, and most recently suspension,” McCartney said.

“He is definitely an important component of the young group that is emerging at our club, and we are keen for him to finish the season strongly.

“I’m confident that with some continuity in play we will see the best of Will over the coming weeks.”

After banking the four points last week, Hawthorn is chasing back-to-back wins for the first time since Round 2 on Sunday.

The match will be broadcast live via Fox Footy and Kayo Sports, with coverage beginning at 1pm.
