Emily Bates has undergone surgery to repair the ACL rupture sustained in Round 5.
High Performance Manager Aaron Kellett provided an update on Bates and Emily Everist, who had follow-up surgery on her knee.
He also detailed how Hannah Looney and Grace Baba are progressing from their respective hamstring and ankle injuries.
Hannah Looney (Hamstring) – TBC
“Made some big steps in the last week and a half, Hannah. She's resumed her running progressions, change of direction, increased her conditioning. I think I said last week it's going to be a pretty tight timeline to make the end of the season, but her progression so far certainly suggests we're not ruling that out. We'll need to step through a pretty rigid return to play, but yeah, really, really positive steps.”
Grace Baba (Ankle) – TBC
“Probably a little bit of a flat spot for Grace. We had some swelling we needed to manage, and we had to make some adjustments to her training program. Same deal (as Hannah), the timeline makes it really difficult for the end of the season for Grace. We haven't ruled that out, but certainly, you know, we'd like to see her moving forward with her next set of steps to be on track for that.”
Emily Bates (Knee) – Season
“Successful surgery. Always a bit groggy after surgery, but as usual, Batesy is asking questions about what she can do and how quickly she can return, which we expect nothing less. But yeah, really successful surgery, and we look forward to getting her back in and starting her exercise program really quickly.”
Emily Everist (Knee) – Season
“Sherpa went in for a bit of a cleanout on that knee. Just had some grumbling issues that were causing some range of motion stuff, so the surgeon went in and just gave that a minor cleanout. That was really successful, she's back in the club today. We anticipate that's going to be a really, really minor setback. Yeah, so just a little bit of an update there.”
