Season summary:

Lynch battled through an injury-plagued campaign to show some positive signs in his seven games this season.

The developing ruckman provided an energetic spark when he made it onto the park, as he continued to build on the trust from his teammates.

The 23-year-old was also demonstrated an ability to push forward and impact the scoreboard, adding to his versatility as he continues to develop his game further in the years to come.

Best AFL game:

Lynch was among the Hawks best in their Round 8 game against the Bombers, gathering a season-high 12 disposals and kicking two goals. He also totalled 18 hitouts in what proved to be a tough 27-point loss to the arch rivals.

How the coaches saw him:

“Maxy was looking really promising over the pre-season and the early part of this season and obviously had some issues with the head knocks. It was good to see him get back late and find his way into the seniors which will give him some confidence heading into next year. He has built really good trust in his teammates and now it's onwards and upwards for him looking forward. His application and attitude was fantastic, he just had really bad luck. He trained really well and was looking really good as a young player coming into this prime as a ruckman." – Robert Harvey
