Hawthorn defenders Mackenzie Eardley and Emily Everist will undergo a test to prove their fitness for the side’s clash with the Western Bulldogs at Box Hill on Saturday afternoon.

Eardley was withdrawn in the warm-up of Hawthorn’s Round 3 loss to Richmond due to acute aggravation of a previous knee issue, while Everist has been dealing with an ankle injury.

Hawthorn AFLW High Performance Manager Olivia Knowles said both players were working hard to be available for Saturday’s game.

“Emily has been diligent with her rehab and is expected to return to full training this week,” Knowles said.

“Both her and Mackenzie will be assessed during the week to determine their availability for our Round 4 match.”

There is also positive news for Jenna Richardson, who is dealing with a stress response.

“Jenna is progressing really well through her rehab having returned to running in the past week,” Knowles said.

Meanwhile, fellow defender Eliza Shannon is set for a stint on the sidelines with concussion.

“Eliza obtained a head knock during our Round 3 match and has entered the minimum 12-day concussion protocol, but is expected to miss at least two games based on our fixturing,” Knowles said.

Knowles was also able to provide an update on Louise Stephenson and Tamara Luke’s recoveries.

“Lou has undergone successful surgery to repair her ankle injury,” Knowles said.

“She is in great spirits and is currently completing non-weight bearing rehabilitation.

“Tamara has been scheduled for surgery in the next fortnight.”
