Box Hill Hawks VFLW made it three wins on the trot with a commanding 50-point victory over the Casey Demons on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Demons 11.9 (75) to 3.7 (25) at Box Hill City Oval.
From the outset, the Hawks were switched on, kicking three first-quarter goals to take a 15-point lead into the first break. They continued their dominance in the second term, applying relentless forward pressure and extending the margin to 36-20 by halftime.
Box Hill’s ball movement and defensive pressure overwhelmed the Demons, who struggled to find clean entries inside 50. The Hawks’ midfield, led by Isla Baldwin with a game-high 25 disposals, controlled the contest and gave their forwards ample opportunity to capitalise.
Gabby Collingwood, Mia Zielinski and Annabelle Embelton lead the charge, each slotting two goals throughout the game. Contributions came across the board, with eight individual goal scorers, reflecting the even spread of talent across the team.
Tess Cattle and Sophie Cariss-Brett were pivotal in their performance, each collecting 17 touches, while Embleton, Van Berkel, and Stasia Stevenson (16 disposals each) provided plenty of drive around the ground.
By three-quarter time, the Hawks had all but sealed the match with a 26-point lead, but they saved their best for last—piling on four final-quarter goals while keeping the Demons scoreless to finish with an impressive victory.
This win solidifies Box Hill’s momentum early on in the season and further cements their place in the top tier of the competition.
Box Hill will look to carry this red-hot form into this week as they aim to extend their winning streak to four.
