Star Hawthorn midfielder James Worpel has topped the coaches' votes for Round 9, polling a perfect 10 votes for his performance against Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was at his dominant best in the Hawthorn engine room, recording a team-high 28 disposals to go with a game-high 10 tackles and six clearances.

Changkuoth Jiath continued his solid form with 25 disposals, 12 intercept possessions and nine marks on Saturday, polling four votes from the coaches.

In defence, James Sicily received three votes and Josh Weddle polled two. 

The Hawks skipper had 24 disposals at 88 per cent efficiency to complement his 10 marks and nine intercept possessions.

Meanwhile, Weddle kicked a goal to go with his 22 disposals, six intercept possessions and five score involvements.

Following a three-goal final term, forward Jack Gunston received one coaches' vote. 

Overall, the 33-year-old tallied 14 disposals, 10 score involvements and six marks.
