The Box Hill Hawks VFLW side were once again the ones to end a winning streak, powering home to a 32-point victory over Darebin at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday.

The Hawks showed determination and control, with their strongest performance coming in the final quarter, finishing the game 6.7 (43) to 1.5 (11).

The game was a tale of two halves. The first half was tightly contested, with the scores level at one goal apiece by quarter time and just a 9-point margin at the main break. But in the third quarter, the Hawks began to showcase their smooth ball movement and were able to defend Darebins’ third quarter push.

Box Hill’s dominant second half was led by Jess Matin, who kicked three quick goals in the last quarter to blow the game open and put the result out of Darebin’s reach. Tess Cattle was also a standout for Box Hill, finishing as the team’s leading ball-winner with 23 disposals and adding two goals to cap off an impressive performance.

The Hawks celebrated Pride Round in style, with the win taking them to a 6-2 record and equal top of the ladder. They’ll be back in action on Saturday, June 21st, facing the Casey Demons at Casey Fields.
