Hawthorn vice-captain Eliza West will suit up for her 75th game on Saturday when the Hawks face West Coast at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.

The 29-year-old played her first 36 AFLW matches for Melbourne, missing only once since her debut in Round 1 of 2022 (S6).

One season later, she was part of the Demons' AFLW Premiership-winning side.

Since arriving at Hawthorn during the 2023 trade period, the midfielder has continued to be one of the league's most durable and consistent midfielders, having not missed a game in the brown and gold.

West has also served as the club's vice-captain in each of her three seasons so far with the Hawks, including currently serving as Hawthorn's stand-in skipper while Emily Bates rehabilitates an ACL injury.

She remarkably claimed Hawthorn's best and fairest award in her first year as a Hawk, while finishing second last year.

In 2026, West is currently ranked fourth in the competition for average contested possessions per game with 14.6, highlighting her hunger and tenacity at the source.

She is also 10th in the league for average clearances per match with 5.3.

On top of that, the superstar ball-winner averages 23.3 disposals and 6.2 tackles across her 11 games this season.

Formerly an elite basketballer, West played college basketball in the USA for the Utah State Aggies from 2017 to 2019, before switching codes to AFLW in 2022 (Season 6).
