Jasmine Fleming is set to face stint on the sidelines with a knee injury, while three Hawks will face a fitness test to prove their ability for Round 2.

Fleming will miss the next 4-6 weeks following an injury to the medial ligament in her knee, which she suffered in Hawthorn's Round 1 win over the Brisbane Lions.

Meantime, Aileen Gilroy was a late withdrawal from the Round 1 side due to hamstring soreness, while Mackenzie Eardley wasn’t quite ready to return after a knee incident last week and Aine McDonagh dislocated her thumb in the game against the Lions. The trio will need to pass a fitness test this week in order to be available for the clash with Carlton on Saturday night.

High Performance Manager Aaron Kellett provided an update on those four players, as well as how Jenna Richardson and Kristy Stratton are tracking in their rehab.

Mackenzie Eardley (Knee) – Test

“We were a couple days short on getting Mack up for last weekend, She’s progressed well, she’s got some training content to do today and we’ll aim for main training on Thursday as a bit of a test for her to be available for this week.”

Aileen Gilroy (Hamstring) – Test

“Gilly just had some hamstring soreness at the backend of training last week, we gave it every last minute to try and get her up for the weekend, in the end, we weren’t confident that she was ready to go. So we’ll have a look at her this week, we will play pretty conservatively given her injury history. But at this stage she’ll be a test for the weekend.”

Áine McDonagh (Thumb) – Test

“Áine just sort of dislocated her thumb, she was able to relocate that herself. We don’t anticipate it’s going to be a problem, we’ll scan it just to rule out anything sinister, she’ll be a test for the week. But as I’ve said, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem for her this weekend.”

Jenna Richardson (Hamstring) – 2 weeks

“Progressing really well, we’ve done some further investigations this week which have come back really positively. We’ll aim to square away a couple of the last stages of her rehab with her maximum velocity sprinting, aim to full train next week and be available for Round 3 hopefully.”

Kristy Stratton (Hamstring) – 3 weeks

“We’ve done some similar investigations with Kristy this week, all come back positive. She’s ahead of where we thought she’d be and at this stage she’s tracking for Round 4 availability at this point.””

Jasmine Fleming (Knee) – 4-6 weeks

“Yeah it was a nasty incident, bit of a knee-on-knee contact, front on. She was assessed when she came off the field and structurally the physios felt that was okay, we sent her out there and she was still a bit sore so we shut her down for the day. We’ve scanned that and thankfully she’s avoided any significant structural damage from an ACL perspective, but she has injured the medial ligament on the side of her knee, so that’s going to hold her back from somewhere between four and six weeks at this point. But thankfully avoided some really significant damage which was one of our concerns."
