Jenna Richardson will need to get through this week of training to be available for Hawthorn’s Round 3 clash.

Aileen Gilroy’s stint on the sidelines has been extended, while Kristy Stratton is progressing well and on track to rejoin the main training group next week.

High Performance Manager Aaron Kellett also gave an update on Jasmine Fleming’s MCL injury and Ainslie Kemp’s plan for surgery to repair her ACL.

Jenna Richardson (Hamstring) – Test

“Jenna entered our main training group today, so she’s completed full training today and will complete training for the rest of the week and at this stage is available for this week.

Aileen Gilroy (Hamstring) – 1-2 weeks

“Gilly’s hamstring didn’t sort of progress as we expected it to last week. Still had some vague awareness in the back end of the week, which obviously meant we kept her unavailable for the weekend. We’ve gone back and had a look at some of her loading and some of her progression markers and have readjusted her plan at this point. Based on her loading, based on her clinical progression, we anticipate somewhere between one and two weeks at this point.”

Kristy Stratton (Hamstring) – 2 weeks

“Really well. She completed skills clearance from the rehab group today, some modified training for the rest of the week. She’ll be full training with the main group next week and to be available for Round 4 at this point.”

Jasmine Fleming (Knee) – 3-5 weeks

“Very positively, the MCL in particular is responding better than we anticipated. She still has some bone bruising that’s giving her some grief, but she’s fully weight-bearing and has started some loading now. We still think she’s somewhere between three and five weeks away, but given the way she’s progressing and pending how she reloads through that, we’re hopeful that it’s in the lower part of that timeframe rather than the higher.”

Ainslie Kemp (Knee) – Season

“Ainslie has a surgeon’s review tomorrow and we expect following that review, the surgery will happen pretty quickly so will look to repair the ACL graft that has ruptured and she has a bucket-handle tear of the meniscus that will need some repair as well. Hopefully we can get that done quickly and I’m sure that’ll go really well, and then we can map our what the return to play and the rehab plan looks like for Ainslie from there.”
