Last time we met

Hawthorn (73) defeated Collingwood (26) in Week 2, 2024.

Hawthorn secured its biggest AFLW win to date in style, taking a 47-point victory over Collingwood at Victoria Park.

After a scrappy start, with neither side able to properly settle, 50-gamer Aileen Gilroy took the game by the scruff of the neck, booting truly from 45 metres out. She finished with two on her tally, and fellow Irish expat Áine McDonagh also booted two majors, while the Hawks had six other individual goal scorers.

Lucy Wales dominated the ruck contest with 29 hitouts, as well as a team-high seven tackles. Tilly Lucas-Rodd managed an equal game-high 27 disposals and a game-high nine marks. And few could match Jas Fleming’s pace out of the centre as the game wore on, she finished with 19 disposals and five clearances.
