Hawthorn midfielder Bridie Hipwell has been sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 season after fracturing her leg in the Round 6 clash with Collingwood.

Meanwhile, Emily Everist will miss this weekend, having entered the concussion protocols after an incident on the weekend.

Hawthorn High Performance Manager Aaron Kellett also provided an update on Kaitlyn Ashmore and Najwa Allen’s respective hamstring injuries.

Kaitlyn Ashmore (Hamstring) - TEST

“Kashy’s had a really productive few weeks on the training track and has progressed through some of these later stages, probably quicker than we maybe had planned for. We’ve put a pretty robust process in place to make sure we’ve got all the metrics in order and she’s passed all of those. She’s done a main training session today, so as part of due diligence, we’ll see how she pulls up tomorrow but we expect she’s going to pull up fine and anticipate she’ll be available for this weekend.”

Emily Everist (Concussion) - TBC

“Emily presented with some delayed concussion symptoms post-game after the Collingwood match, the Doctor assessed her and she’s entered the concussion protocols, so she’ll miss this week. And obviously, pending how well she steps through those will obviously determine her availability for the next match.”

Najwa Allen (Hamstring) - 3-5 weeks

“Tracking really well, continues to progress through the mid to late stages of her return to play. We’re obviously being conservative giving the recurrence and her history of that injury but so far progressing well, strength is returning, her markers are up and her high-speed running is starting to come online now. We’ll follow that really closely but at this stage, three to five weeks.”

Bridie Hipwell (Leg) – Season

“Bridie’s had a shin on leg contact injury in the match against Collingwood, as a result she unfortunately sustained a fracture of her tibia, thankfully it’s undisplaced which means it hadn’t moved and is pretty stable. She’s in hospital, she’s on a surgical list for this afternoon and she’ll have that sight pinned. We anticipate she’ll have good bone healing and as a result we anticipate she’ll also be able to weight-bear pretty quickly, as soon as she’s able to and tolerate it. And then we can start stepping her through her return to play, but that does mean her season is out of action now.”
